Understanding your pain
Understanding and treating your pain is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle. Every piece of the puzzle, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, is important in creating the whole picture. Once we can see the picture, we can put together an effective treatment plan that will have long-lasting results.

What's causing your pain?
Pain is usually the first symptom that indicates that there is an imbalance in the body.  Pain can be experienced in different ways ranging from sharp and stabbing to dull and achy. The first step in treating pain is to find its origin. 

Common Causes of Pain
Pain can be caused by a number of different factors. The most common causes of pain include:
  • Injury or trauma
  • Poor posture
  • Post-operative
  • Emotional stress
  • Overuse syndrome
  • Weakness
  • Pregnancy
  • Degenerative disorders
  • Disease
  • Infection
  • Lack of sleep
  • Poor diet
  • Aging
Acupuncture and Pain
The next step is choosing healing modalities that address your unique set of pain symptoms. These healing modalities may include acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbs, cupping, guasha, moxibustion, nutritional therapy, hot/cold compresses, restful sleep protocol, lifestyle modification, and/or strength/flexibility exercises. An integration of healing modalities is usually the most effective strategy in eliminating pain.
