Themed Classes for the Winter Session 2025
Class 1 - An in-depth look at Trikonasana (triangle pose).. This pose works multiple muscle groups and is good for opening up the hips and the shoulders. It also helps with balance and focus.
Class 2 - Ardha Chandrasana (half moon pose) is actually three poses in succession: warrior pose 2, half moon pose, and Parsvakonasana. A great pose for developing strength, balance, and flexibility. A real work out!
Class 3 - Exploring the Warrior Poses. These poses are of great significance because they symbolize inner strength, courage, and determination to face life's challenges.
Class 4 - Sun Salutations. It is about this time of year that we really miss the sun and its warmth. The sun is a source of energy and life for all living beings and plant life. Practicing Sun Salutations is a way of honoring the sun and its life-giving properties.
Class 5 - Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana). We will practice this pose in a supported fashion using a chair and away from the wall. Truly one of the most important poses in yoga.
Class 6 - Anantasana. This is one of the best poses for stretching the inner thighs and opening the hips. This pose also help to stabilize the core. One of my favorite poses.
Class 7 - Candle Light Yoga
This quiet and deeply relaxing class will focus on restorative poses...poses that heal and quiet the spirit. And yes...with real candles.
Class 8 - Yoga Sweet Yoga
As an avid baker, I love to share my creations with my students. This class is a student directed class where you get to choose your favorite pose and I will put them together in a mindful sequence. Afterwards....cake, pie, cookies, something deliciously sweet!

Class 1 - Chair Yoga
For those of you who have difficulty getting down to the floor and getting up from the floor, chair yoga is an excellent practice to reap all the benefits of a traditional class. You will be amazed at how many poses you can do with a chair!
Class 2 - Boat Pose (Paripurna Navasana)
This pose helps to strengthen the back and tonifies the intestines. It also helps to lengthen the hamstrings.
Class 3 - Garland Pose (Malasana)
This pose helps to alleviate back pain, tonifies the intestines, and open up the shoulders. It can be a challenging pose but there are lots of modifications to reap the benefits.
Class 4 - Liver Detox
One of the many functions of the Liver is to filter the blood and remove toxins. This class is devoted to poses that help to activate a sluggish Liver and remove toxins from the blood stream..
Class 5 - Lotus Pose (Padmasana)
Lotus pose helps to develop more flexibility and openness in the hips. We will also work on half lotus and Ardo Baddha Padmottanasana (standing version of half lotus).
Class 6 - Parsvakonasana (standing pose)
In this class we will work on both the classic pose and a twisting variation. This pose has many benefits including opening up the hips, alleviating stiffness in the knees and ankles, improving digestive function, and promoting bowel movements.
