What is Community Acupuncture (CA)?
Community acupuncture is acupuncture done in a group setting for a less expensive fee. Because more patients
are able to be treated per hour, the savings can be passed on to you. Patients are treated sitting in a comfortable chair and fully clothed. Acupuncture needles are inserted in
"distal" points, powerful points located from the foot to the knee and from the hand to the elbow. Additionally, it is common to use "auricular" or ear acupuncture. Group or community acupuncture is the way acupuncture is traditionally done in China.

What does CA Treat?
Community Acupuncture can treat a myriad of medical conditions including:
  -  Stress-related conditions
  -  Chronic/acute pain
   -  Headaches
  -  Digestive imbalances including weight loss
  -  Allergies
  -  High blood pressure
  -  Depression and anxiety disorders
  -  Women’s health issues (PMS, infertility, and 
      menopause).  

Each treatment is individually designed, regardless of how many people you are sitting with. However, if you would like to discuss your condition at length or would like to spend more time with the acupuncturist, you may prefer a private session.

How should I prepare for my session?
It would be best if you wore loose comfortable clothing. You will be asked to roll up your sleeves and your pant legs, and to take off your shoes and socks. Eat lightly before your session. It is not a good idea to be treated on an empty stomach or if you are extremely exhausted. Upon arrival, your acupuncturist will spend approximately 10 minutes reviewing your Patient Form and discussing your concerns. Needles will then be inserted and you will sit quietly for 20-30 minutes. At the end of that time, the needles will be removed. You should feel calm and relaxed. The whole treatment should last approximately 45 minutes.

Fees: Sliding Scale of $20-$40 per session (checks
           and cash only). A one-time $10 paperwork fee
           is charged for first time patients.

3.  Complete the Patient Form and bring with you to 
        your visit.

Cancellation Policy: A 24-hour notice is required to cancel an appointment; otherwise, you will be charged a $20 cancellation fee. Appointments are booked every 15 minutes, so please be on time for your scheduled appointment.
