                                      What is Acupuncture?

                                      Picture
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese healing art that is over 2,000 years old.  This time-honored practice is deeply rooted in yin and yang theory, and in the concept of qi.  Yin and yang are complementary opposites that create life and movement in the body.  Qi is an intangible life force that flows through the body along pathways called meridians.  Whenever an imbalance occurs between the yin and yang forces of the body, and there is a disruption in the flow of qi, the disease process begins.

                                      How Does Acupuncture Work?
                                      1. Increases blood circulation.
                                      2. Increases the flow of qi.
                                      3. Causes your own body's endorphins to be released which, in turn, relieves pain and stress in the body.
                                      4. Boosts organ and nerve function to create balance.
